Red worked hard on keeping herself calm as she listened to the king, Manfred the third, and his outburst over the fact she hadn't caught Pekka when she had the chance, of course she didn't blame the man for being angry. If Pekka was indeed as dangerous as rumours said then even she regretted she hadn't acted when the opportunity had appeared, despite the fact they had been in a temple. She lowered her head for the king and gave him her apology, it wasn’t much, far from it, but it was all she could do and it calmed the king slightly, enough to compose himself at least. However she knew it was only because he was thinking in the end and it did give her the chance to explain herself, for what she hoped would be for the better.

The thunder started to get worse for each step he took down the old street, making the unpleasant feeling worse than he wanted to admit to. He knew his refusal to give himself up was going to cause him problems that would make the war escalate faster than he had hoped, but he knew it would be all over if he gave up now, it was important that he did this. He had to leave the city tonight; there were no time to plan and no time to pack more than needed, he was just lucky he lived by the harbour but the weather did make him worried no ship would set sail. It would be cause problems.
As he reached the door to his house and hurried inside he was instantly greeted by the maid, Tina, who most likely had been waiting for his return for hours, even if she knew he would be late.
